All our products are made in fair waged conditions here in London and Uganda and we are working hard to work with the planet.
Finding the perfect garment to fit your perfect body can be tricky; after all everybody’s body is unique.
Gender is no big deal to us, we think clothing is clothing and style is style, but as we use pre-made items we list the gender that the piece was designed for but also list the AFRORETRO 'male' and 'female' equivalent sizes. This is work in progress so please let us know if you have any comments or ideas how we can do or word this better.
Many of the garments you can purchase on our website have been UpCycled.
We give unloved and unused articles of clothing a new lease of life ready to be enjoyed in your wardrobe. This means; we collect; unloved garments and with a touch of AFRORETRO magic , a sprinkle of Ugandan style, a hint of English attitude and the help of a sewing machine we update them - Uganglish style!
To make picking the right size garment as simple as possible, on each UpCycled item we will list the actual garment measurements, UK size allocation and how it fits in the AFRORETRO sizing chart. Any queries please drop us a line at online@afroretro.com
What about the garments that are not UpCycled?
AFRORETRO originals are the garments we either sew ourselves or commission our local London factories to sew on our behalf. AFRORETRO originals are made to fit the body measurements in the table below. All measurements are shown in centimetres.
