Weave stunning African Wax printed fabric into your unloved tee to give it a new edge. All within the creative setting of The School of Uganglish. You will be treated to Ugandan chai-ee (spiced tea) and scrummy Ugandan treats.
Learn exactly what UpCycling is - from how we do it here, to the UpCycle Kings and Queens of Uganda. Pick up some British & Ugandan weaving techniques and some good old fashion hand sewing skills.
You will leave with a beautiful statement top with a weaved feature pattern. Not only that but some renegade sewing techniques and a handy guide to remind you of your new skills. Also during the afternoon you will have the chance to make a fabric weaved greeting card and a Ugandan styled weaved paper bookmark.
As we want you to rock your UpCycled T-shirt with confidence, please bring an old t-shirt or top that fits you. Don’t worry we will have a selection on the day if you haven’t got one and also provide everything else you need.
Suggested Donation of £35 per place.
Places are limited to 20 per session to ensure each UpCycler has the space to create.
As we are completely self funded, this will cover our volunteers travel expenses, our utilities, your fabric/threads, our machine up-keep, card & bookmark making materials, insurance and all the trimmings . Also designing and printing your instructional leaflet so you can weave your life away time and time again.
