So here are our resident Drummers Simon hailing from Jinja, Uganda and Will flying in from the wilds of Macclesfield, England.
In Uganda Drumming is a very important part of life, culture and arts. Most tribes in Uganda have a particular way and set of drums they are known for, also each clan (extended family group) have their own drum beat and call and response. We are from, the Busoga tribe and the Talenga Clan, as is Simon.
We asked Simon to teach Will as much as humanly possible about Busoga style drumming. Then we asked Will to take all his new found information and create his own UGANGLISH clan beat and response and his own Maccelsfield/Ugandan sound.
Come and join us as part of The AFRORETRO School of Uganglish on Sunday October 12th and Saturday 1st November to see, experience and dance to beat of the Uganglish Drum. FIND OUT MORE.
